'Lost' Actor Matthew Fox Signs On To Post World War II Thriller 'Emperor'

Looks like he hasn't lost it after all!

After a tumultuous year that involved being arrested for punching his party bus driver, Matthew Fox is doing pretty well for himself. According to Variety, the "Lost" actor has signed on to "Emperor," a thriller set in post World War II Japan. Fox will be playing Bonner Fellers, a general given the task of deciding whether or not Emperor Hirohito should be prosecuted for his war antics. A little romance is thrown into the mix, of course -- Fellers is pining after a Japanese girl he fell in love with, making it difficult for him to focus on his decision.

But will Fox return to TV, the medium responsible for his career? Not likely, according to the Telegraph. "This has nothing to do with any kind of snobbery," Fox explained. "I think some of the best writing is happening on television. It's because of the time commitment, how much it restricts my ability to spend time with my family, and do things that I love to do. Having a studio tell you when to jump and how high eight months of the year for six years is not a relationship I want to get into again."

"Emperor," which begins filming at the end of January in Japan and New Zealand, isn't Fox's only project. He plays a killer named Picasso in "I, Alex Cross," and took role with Brad Pitt in Marc Foster's "World War Z." Both films are set to be released this year.

I don't know. The more I see pictures of Matthew Fox, the more he starts looking like Rick Santorum, and that really creeps me out.

I still miss Lost. Just seeing Foxy's picture reminds me of how much. What a great escape that show was.

When I saw the movie was called "Emperor" and saw it said he'd be back on an island, I thought this was a movie about Napoleon.

I worked with him when he was on Party of Five and by far he has to be the rudest actor I have worked with. Can you say big baby and very immature.

He would be awesome as Commander Shepard in a live action Mass Effect trilogy.

And more importantly, movies give him more time to punch the ladies.
