Rick Perry Staying In Race

Texas governor Rick Perry says he will remain in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, despite his poor showing in Iowa.

Perry tweeted on Wednesday morning, "And the next leg of the marathon is the Palmetto State... Here we come South Carolina!!!" with a picture of the candidate giving the thumbs-up sign.

A reporter for the Dallas Morning News also confirmed Perry's intention to forge on, tweeting "Griffin Perry just told me #RickPerry spoke with his wife this morning after a good jog cleared his head and they're onto S. Carolina."

National Journal reports that according to an anonymous senior Republican official, Perry will take a couple of days off in Texas and then head to New Hampshire for this weekend's debates.

Perry finished in fifth place in Iowa, receiving just 10 percent of the vote. In a speech given before the full results were announced, showing former Mass. governor Mitt Romney the winner, Perry said he was returning to Texas to reflect on the best path forward, spurring talk he would be dropping out of the race.

He is waiting on the big conservative pow wow this weekend that plans to select the candidate to take on Romney.  This event is apparently being organized by James Dobson (there is an HP story on this).

I expect the outcome of that meeting will be a decision to pick one of the remaining candidates - Perry, Gingrich or Santorum and force the other two out.  They will let Gingrich turn  Read More...

Perry carrying on, seems to come from his obsession to impose the plutocratic agenda on the United States. Could be he hopes somehow, a red herring issue will yet be found to generate enough support from the 99% for his election to the presidency. Then onwards with getting larger pieces of a fixed size economic pie for the wealthy by impoverishing the entire middle class.

I hope those hapless South Carolina coyotes had the good sense to clear the path while Doofus Perry was jogging and receiving epiphanies.

Why is Rick Perry not getting the GOP support??

He represents all that the GOP professes to stand for. Plus he has a pipeline to God, he is all about job creation, his record is impressive in that area. Sure they are low paying jobs and he totally disregards employee rights and EPA regulations when it comes to creating those jobs but a job creater he is. He has great hair, an I just took 15 xanax smile, handsome in that rugged all American "real" Patriot way...I dont get it, why is this man not the front runner?? I mean sure he is dumb as a box of rocks reminiscent of Bush jr. But that too should go in his favor when courting the GOP vote, the GOP still love Bush jr. afterall, So what gives??

Im sure Rick Perry feels the same why I do, he must be so baffled. Each day he must look in the mirror and ask "What more can I do?" he is 100% pure USDA prime GOP".
