UPDATE: Longmont Teens Ticketed For Allegedly Killing Geese

Longmont Police are on the lookout for four teenagers who witnesses say ran over several geese there.

According to the Longmont Times Call, witnesses say a white SUV stopped at 4 p.m. near a flock of geese. A teenager exited the vehicle, rounded up the geese, and then scared them into the roadway. "At that time, the white SUV accelerated toward the geese, striking them," said Longmont Police spokesman Jeff Satur.

UPDATE:

Longmont police have ticketed two teen suspects that allegedly killed four local geese with an SUV. The 17-year-old driver and the 16-year-old who coaxed the geese to step onto the roadway were ticketed on four counts of felony aggravated animal abuse. A third teen, 16-years-old, who waited in the vehicle during the incident was referred to restorative justice, the Longmont Times-Call reports.

EARLIER:

The vehicle then sped off down the road, leaving three dead geese and one injured goose. Fox31 writes the injured goose was taken to Greenwood Wildlife Rehab Center.

According to 9News, the goose that survived, who is being called "Victor," is now in stable condition, eating and responding to light, but veterinarians say that he is paralyzed in both legs.

If anyone has information about the incident, they're asked to call the Longmont Police Department at (303)651-8501 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
