'Work It' Premiere: Uncensored Reactions From Twitter

First Posted: 01/ 3/2012 11:57 pm   Updated: 01/ 4/2012 1:19 pm

"Work It" -- the new ABC cross-dressing comedy that has been pretty unanimously named the early frontrunner for 2012's worst new show -- premiered last night. If you failed to read our "Work It" warnings or watched out of pure trainwreck curiosity, we're sorry.

But if you tweeted about it, chances are we've got your candid and uncensored "Work It" reactions right here. Consider it a flashing red light for anyone still debating whether or not to tune in.

We were shocked by how much Twitter activity this sexist, offensive show inspired, and not all of it was negative. (We giggled in agreement at the one comment suggesting someone paid for the positive tweets.) Yes, there were several people praising this so-called sitcom, but the masses were there to nitpick, like majestic crows circling over the (hopefully inevitable) carcass of this (hopefully swiftly canceled) show.

So if you're still considering giving this show a shot, even after all the things we've printed, take it from most of your peers, stay away and stay smarter for it. There's nothing there worth 30 minutes of your time.

I thought the show was very funny! Better than most you see on tv these days. Oh, you don't like remakes...what about Batman, Spiderman, Footloose, etc. I liked it, no profanity, or constantly having everyone jumping in bed with each other....like that's funny, sick society we have now. It's a clean show I like it.

Both salubrious and lugubrious concurrently.

It like ABC has bipolar disorder. For each good night of programming they have another amazingly awful night . I just spent all night happily watching ABC - but today's Wednesday.

Even before Bosom Buddies was The Ugliest Girl in Town which blazed the trail in 1968.

Sigh...we have come so darn far!

As wretched as it was, it was STILL not as bad as "Whitney".

It's more watchable than the MainStream Media, that's for sure. At least they weren't yelling at the audience or interrupting their guests or talking over each other trying to get a word in so that you end up not hearing any of them. What I find so striking is how many shows have to have an unemployed character in other appease the audience when recent polls show that 47% of American households have at least one adult member in the home that is unemployed or working part time when they want to be full time. When you have shows like "Work It", it means that we have a serious Greater Depression in our country that our politicians are ignoring.

Of course it's as bad as everyone thought. Can we please stop giving this abomination all the free press now?
10:27 PM on 01/04/2012
Hey, I watched this and it is a pretty good show. Not nearly as bad as Keith Olbermann.

It's no different than Tim Allen is his new show, where they make him outdoor man, instead of Tim the tool man taylor, oh yea, and he has three girls instead of three boys. Hollywood has no sense of imagination. BUT, they probably don't want to pay a good salary to one who does.

I love the Tim Allen show about the "Outdoor Man" I think the comedy is good but I am Old you know and watched Tim the Tool Man too.

It was not that good. However, it was better than the show it replaced.

CAN IT! Its not doing women or transgender people any favors. CAN IT!
10:29 PM on 01/04/2012
The show is not on the air to do women or transgender people any favors. Or anyone else for that matter.

It is on the air to make people laugh. And I laughed quite a bit.
