Bradley Cooper Birthday: 'Sexiest Man Alive' Turns 37 (PHOTOS)

Happy birthday, Bradley Cooper!

The actor turns 37 Thursday, and what a stellar year he's had -- from starring in "Limitless" and "The Hangover Part II" to being named PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive 2011.

But the past year had its low points for the actor as well. He lost his father, Charles, who passed away Jan. 15, 2011 at age 71 after battling a long illness. A few months later, Cooper split from girlfriend Renee Zellwegger after less than two years together.

Since the split, Cooper has become quite the eligible bachelor in Hollywood and has been linked to stars such as Olivia Wilde, Jennifer Lopez and, most recently, Zoe Saldana.

Sure, he may be the Sexiest Man Alive, but Cooper himself admitted that the coveted title should have gone to his pal, Ryan Gosling.

"He literally looks like he's in a photo shoot, like he just came off the runway." Cooper said about Gosling on "The Graham Norton Show." "I literally look like the neighbor who never comes really out of his house."
