Joel Edgerton In Osama Bin Laden Movie From Kathryn Bigelow

Welcome to Seal Team Six, Joel Edgerton. Your mission: take out Osama Bin Laden.

The Australian actor, most recently seen in this fall's critically acclaimed MMA family drama "Warrior," has signed on to star in the film about the US military's pursuit of Osama Bin Laden being produced by "Hurt Locker" director Kathryn Bigelow. Variety reports that Edgerton has joined on after passing up the "300" prequel film.

The film, which was in development before the military killed Bin Laden and was rejiggered to reflect the development, will give Edgerton a second massive prestige picture set for a December 2012 release. He is co-starring as Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's 3D adaptation of "The Great Gatsby," featuring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.

The news wasn't all good for Bigelow's film on Thursday. Government officials are looking into whether the filmmakers were given confidential information that could put the real Seal Team 6 in danger while researching for the film. The investigation comes at the behest of New York Rep. Peter King.

Warrior was the best film of 2011. Great script, Great acting. The 3 leads and Frank Grillo were all wonderful. Just bought it on DVD and liked it better the second time.

Just saw "Warrior". Way better than expected but I feel Tom Hardy stole the show, he was incredible.

I so agree. I never thought I'd like a movie about MMA, but it's a great movie. Tom Hardy reminds me of Brando, I really think he's that good.

What a load of made up B.S the Bin Laden tale is.
Almost everyone now sees 911 as very suspect as well.
When America collapses the truth about 911 will rear it's ugly head and it goes way deeper than an already deceased kidney dialysys patient living in a cave.
This movie sounds like CIA backed Hollywood Propaganda for the military industrial complex and to carry on the absurd myth of OBL.
