New Hampshire Police Arrest Man Driving Car With Only Three Tires, Charge With DUI

Not all the wheels were turning for Barry Short over the weekend.

Police in New Hampshire arrested a man early Sunday morning after he drove a vehicle with three tires past a police cruiser, WMUR-TV reports.

Officers on duty sitting inside the police cruiser -- presumably equipped with the standard four wheels -- quickly followed Short, who they say had a blood alcohol level three times over the legal limit.

"[The officer] saw a vehicle go by at a slow rate of speed, and as he did, he noticed that the vehicle was missing a rear tire and was riding on the rim," officer Michael Beauchesne told the television station.

"He had no idea how long he had been riding on the rim," Beauchesne added. "He didn't know where it happened. He didn't know what had happened."

Police also discovered a small baggie of marijuana in the four-door Ford Focus.

Short is charged with driving under the influence, WCVB reports.

My ex got pulled over for the exact same thing in Connecticut in a Ford Van no less. After blocking him in the front and back, he wouldn't get out so they forced the door open and pepper-sprayed him. The next day he didn't remember a thing! I laughed hard just remembering this story!

The first time I seen a car driving on three wheels was in 1967 in Montana, it was a sherrifs car, apparently he was on a call or maybe to lazy to change the tire, but the thery is if you drive fast enough, the car will level out and run OK on three wheels with the wind holding it up, I was driving on a strech of road between Wolf Point and Chester MT when this happened, having never tried it myself, I understand that the wieght of the car dictates how fast you have to drive to do this. It was a unique sight that I have never forgot. But then this guy was just stupid, lol

Reminds me of the time years ago the teen step-daughter was at a party. Her car had a flat tire and she figured it wouldn't hurt to drive home with a flat tire. The tire cut to ribbons was the least of the worries - wrecked front suspension needed tie rod, ball joints and struts replaced.
