Landon Collins Commits To Alabama: Mother Disagrees With Son's Decision Not To Attend LSU (VIDEO)

Top Recruit Upsets Mother By Choosing Alabama Over LSU

We're going to guess that Landon Collins didn't go out to celebrate after announcing his college choice last night.

In all likelihood, he's grounded instead.

Collins is one of the top rated safety prospects in the nation according to ESPN and was named Mr. Football in the state of Louisiana this year.

Last night during the Under Armor All-American game, Collins announced his highly anticipated college decision after narrowing down his long list to offers to Alabama and LSU. In the fourth quarter of the game, Collins went in front of cameras and announced his decision to attend the University of Alabama over his home state Tigers.

LSU doesn't generally let top Louisiana high school football prospects defect to colleges in other states, so Collins' decision surprised many... including his mother.

After the prospect announced his intentions to attend Alabama, Collins' Mother was asked about her thoughts on the commitment after noticing that she appeared unhappy.

"I feel that LSU is the better place for him to be," she responded. "LSU Tigers, number 1. Go Tigers!"

Collins cannot officially sign his letter of intent until Feb. 1st, so you can bet that Les Miles and Nick Saban will continue battling for his signature before and after their team's meet each other on the field for the BCS National Championship in New Orleans.

Saban's recruiting pitch will likely outline the numerous safety prospects his program has sent to the NFL and their long history as a national power. Miles' pitch on the other hand will likely take a slightly simpler approach: Momma knows best.
