The Basics
Located near the state lines of Ohio and Kentucky, southern Indiana's
draws crowds of skiers, snowboarders and snow tubers from all over the region. The Slopes is a relatively small ski area, but with few winter escapes in southern Indiana, the resort is a haven for day-trippers. Perfect North is a short drive from Exit 16 on Interstate 275, and a 30-minute drive from the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport. Family-oriented, the Slopes offers something for all ages and abilities, though it may not challenge the most experienced skiers.
The Mountain
With an
and a 400-foot vertical drop, Perfect North Slopes is not the biggest mountain by far, but it does have a couple of double black diamond expert trails, and its longest trail is a mile long. With an average snowfall of only 24 inches annually, snow machines are frequently used to powder the slopes. The season runs from mid-December to early March, even when the temperature heads toward the 50s. Overall, Perfect North Slopes is a good mountain for beginners, intermediates and avid skiers seeking casual winter fun close to home.
Trails And Lifts
Perfect North Slopes has 11 lifts, including six surface lifts, three triples and two quads. The 75 skiable acres include
, with half of the terrain rated intermediate or advanced intermediate. Twenty percent are beginner slopes, 20 percent advanced and 10 percent expert. The terrain park recently doubled its features with a total of six rails/boxes and a jump. The snow tubing area includes 24 lanes and a tent with seating, a snack bar and an area for parties and group events.

Perfect North Slopes has added an Android application to its collection of
for the iPhone and iPad. With the apps, visitors can plan their trips according to conditions and slope access, watch live cams and podcasts, and even share photos from their smart phones. WCPO 9 News in Cincinnati named the Perfect North App one of the

Cost
to Perfect North, including tubing, is $45 for adults and $33 for kids 12 and younger and seniors 60 and older. Tickets are valid for eight consecutive hours, after which an additional four hours can be purchased for $15. Night tickets, good from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays (or from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday) are $35 and $28. Tubing alone is $25 to $30 for adults and $20 to $25 for children and seniors. Group rates and season passes are available. All-day equipment rental for skiing or snowboarding is $23; bibs and helmets can be rented for $10 each. Daily group lessons are $20, with private and adaptive lessons available.
Apres-Ski
The Chow Corral in the Main Lodge offers a
of breakfast, lunch and dinner items, including sandwiches, salads and beef stew in a bread bowl. Weather permitting, visitors can grill on the deck on weekends. A snack bar in the tubing area also offers grab-and-go fare like burgers, chips, candy and hot chocolate. There is no on-site lodging or alcohol served.
