Five Box

Hello, and good morning, and welcome to your Sunday morning liveblog. And now: goodbye! Yes, some super-genius in Hell has decided that the debate schedule we've already had this year in the 2012 race for the Presidential Hoo-Hah has not been challenging enough. So, they decided to have a debate at nine in the morning today. It will surely be a game-changer -- for the four or five people who are not in the media who said, "A Sunday morning debate? Hell, yes, I want to wake up and watch the same people give the same answers to the same questions!" It's literally in the same city as last night's debate (oh, right, in case you missed it, there was a debate last night as well.

Anyway, I am liveblogging that debate along with whatever folks decided that they had sins for which they had to atone. Come join us! We'll see you next week, unless the Food Network schedules a 2012 GOP Knifefight or something. Which is not outside the realm of possibility.

I wouldn't mind watching a food fight with the current roster of G.O.P. grand thinkers...Presidential aspirants.

This is not a schedule, it is desperation. The thought that if we do the same things the same way we may have a different result. Sorry not desperation, madness.

Because I'm a masochist, I've been watching the GOP debates and wondering where most of the debate questions come from.

Last night's debate had a whole heap of facebookers wanting to hear about NDAA, the Patriot Act and SOPA. The issue was never brought up. No one seems to want to talk about it except Ron Paul.

Obama himself said the Indefinite Detainment clause DID apply to US citizens, but that he promises not to use it. That's, um, comforting? What about the President after him?

While some folks may not be concerned with their rights to due process being stripped away, it is a concern to a fair portion of the population. And while a woman having a right to chose or same sex couple having a right to marry are important - so is having a right to a trial.

Maybe the NDAA is just another thing our "free press" isn't allowed to talk about.

anybody notice the constant smile/smirk on Romney's face during much of last night's debate? The Dark Knight was on another channel and switching back and forth between the two, I kept forgetting if I was seeing the joker of the mittster

Huntsman shot back immediately: "This nation is divided because of attitudes like that."

this sounds like a good exchange:

Huntsman shot back immediately: "This nation is divided because of attitudes like that."
The crowd applauded Huntsman's retort. He went on to say that "the American people are tired of the partisan division."

"They have had enough. There is no trust left among the American people and the institutions of power and among the American people and their elected officials," Huntsman said.

I loved Huntsman's response!

Then he went and ruined his momentum by saying he supported the Paul Ryan plan...

My friends and I used to have a game called "automatic no" where we'd list things about potential boyfriends that would make them immediately unacceptable, like "permanent tan, no travel" or "rude to the wait staff". It was years ago, but these days, "supports the Ryan plan" would top that list.

Thank you Jason you saved me from ulcers and high blood pressure spikes. This is far better for me than stupid pills. America needs to know but not bad enough to sit thru this sham.

watched a bit of the debate last night - can only stomach a few minutes of their BS as a time - but none this morning.
Is today's "debate"(?) about jobs and the economy and what any of these panderers will do improve the economy?

hi guy. I've been reading some of the commentary from the live blog on the debate - at least the bloggers are adding correct information to the lies from this GOP slate

poll after poll shows that, nationwide, we're worried about jobs and the economy. Social issues and even immigration are in the low single digits as to what is important to the voters. The 2010 elections were this disaster we're now struggling with because the GOP claimed to be labor focused on jobs, jobs, jobs.
With this in mind why in the H E double L are these "debate" (?!) moderators focusing so little time on jobs and the economy in general and dedicating so much time to social issues.

I detest the Republicans because they claim to be Christians but hate the poor. With all the
unemployment and inflation most Americans are poor I don't know they expect to get any votes by
telling 99% that they hate them.
