Puppy Totally Pumped About Eating, Can't Keep Hind Legs Down (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 01/09/12 07:01 PM ET Updated: 01/11/12 01:22 PM ET

There's nothing like a bowl full of food to excite a puppy.

In this incredibly cute video you'll see a little fella so ecstatic about eating his meal that he can't even keep his hind legs down.

Pumped and energized, the owner laughs with a friend and describes how the dog was able to flip over the day before he ate.

The footage is almost as adorable as the blind kitten playing with its toys or the baby elephant who didn't get his trunk.

Can't get enough cuteness? Check out the best animal videos of 2011:

Something very wrong with this. Take the puppy AND the video to the vet. Get him checked.

I found the video of the pup eating, really quite worrying.

I've been breeding dogs for 30 years and never saw a puppy act like this. I showed it to my veterinarian and he had the same reaction: this puppy needs a neurological examination. What everyone seems to assume is excitement is NOT NORMAL behavior. Please encourage the owner to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian ASAP.

You are absolutely correct! Get the puppy to a vet!

It's clear that someone has attached a string to this puppy's legs. Not funny.

No, My male yorkie-Damien does the same thing and Sa'cee does not.... When we take them outside to take car of their business. He would kick up his back legs. I don't know why he does it, but every time.

My elderly dog does the same thing, but it's because his back legs are almost useless. Hope this pup is ok!

lol not to be a downer, but does that dog have hydrocephalus or something? I mean, his head is apparently heavier than the rest of him. It's not out of excitement that he keeps almost falling on his face, poor little guy!

Why defective? Maybe the pup was just overly excited to eat his nom nom's.

I'm afraid that this suggests a neurological issue. I hope not, and I hope if it is, the dog grows out of it, because it will most likely get worse.
11:19 PM on 01/10/2012
I don't think it's neurological. It looks more like a gastric problem. Perhaps megaesophagus. It looks like he's having problems with his food not making it all the way into his stomach.
