MSNBC Hosts Spar With John Sununu Over Mitt Romney (VIDEO)

MSNBC's hosts had another series of lively exchanges with former New Hampshire governor John Sununu on Tuesday night.

Sununu drew some attention for his on-air attacks on Chris Matthews over the weekend, and he brought his A-game to the network's coverage of the New Hampshire primaries. His candidate, Mitt Romney, won handily, but that didn't stop Sununu from bristling at some of the questions he was getting.

When Ed Schultz brought up a study that said Romney's tax plan would raise taxes on the middle class and lower them on millionaires, Sununu called the study a "crock of crap."

When Lawrence O'Donnell asked about George H.W. Bush's performance in the New Hampshire primaries, Sununu lashed out. "You don't know what you're talking about!" he shouted. "You're really funny...I think you're grasping at straws."

The hosts, knowing a good thing when they saw it, kept their cool.

Perry: Now supports constitutional abortion ban after saying states should decide their own laws on such issues.

Sununu's right. Lawrence O'Donnel's question was an obvious attempt to bash Romney. Obviously the incumbent Republican is going to win the Republican primary.
Way to include that in the article, HP. Stellar reporting, as per usual.

We should all be grateful to the tox!c Sununu for reminding everyone what would await in a GOP White House.

Arrogant, apologist, elitist miscre ant.

One minute on camera and you want to sl@p him around.

Ditto with McCain and with Christie. It's like RoboFlip is deliberately choosing the thuggiest of the GOP to surrogate for him.

Interesting that the msnbc hosts had an argument with an "invented person." "I was definitely the only person in my class with a Palestinian-American father, who was born in Havana and grew up in New York City."--john e. sununu, son of john h. sununu http://www.americantaskforce.org/remarks_senator_john_sununu_atfp_inaugural_gala

As Frank Zappa said, "America is a nation of laws... badly written and randomly enforced."

Career politicians cannot be trusted, from either side of the aisle. They all have favors to payback (unions, Halliburton, oil compaines, more unions...).

Term limits!!! No lobbyists!!! No pension for Weiner!!!!

We the people!!!!!

Hey CM , maybe we should only allow people to be president if they were a miserable failure in life after leaving boarding shcool and after leaving their wealthy parent's homes,
better yet,
no one should ever be able to run for any public office if they show higher than normal intelligence, academic achievment, fiscal success, or a flare for making money . . .

hey Chris M. , i heard that every single person who experienced the following conditions went on to incredible success..
went to boarding school, and had a wealthy father
and so , that entire class of folks should never , ever have the nerve to think that they could run for high puplic office...because they went to boarding school , and becauase their dads were wealthy

Sunnunu was a big fat. Embarrassment when he was gov of my state, worked to pass the Buck on funding poorer schools....the only person he really advocates for is himself...I am figuring he has a deal for a future post, like he did with daddy Bush...His slug son was just as slimy a senator as his dad was gov...put in a plan to privatize Soc Sec, and when I called with a long list of problem issues in the bill, after debating me for an hour on the details, unable to answer solutions to the problems the bill would create, said they would call back....never did. Tells me Sununu didn't HAVE solutions to the problems he would have created..... Yup, just like dad

Maybe some of you folks left-of-center should go a little easier on Sununu. It was his recommendation to President Bush I to nominate David Souter to the Supreme Court. Sununu was Chief of Staff for President Bush I. Souter became a reliable liberal vote in the SCOTUS.
You folks should be grateful for that.

First real decent back and forth I have seen. Not saying I agree with Sununu, but this is the type of dialog we need.

Let's face it, Romney has never really worked and been scared about where his next meal is coming from. I have a hard time believing he understands what it really means to create jobs for Americans.
02:49 PM on 01/12/2012
So all of your former and present employers who gave you a job never really worked? I have never met a poor person that employed people.
03:24 PM on 01/12/2012
Sorry Moderate, but this is not about me. Mitt is the one under the microscope
03:53 PM on 01/12/2012
That's right, it's not like poor people produce or consume anything, which would then contribute to the economy and overall employment.
