Salt Lake City As 'Gayest City' In America: Jimmy Kimmel Sounds Off On Advocate Designation (VIDEO)

WATCH: Jimmy Kimmel Sounds Off On Salt Lake City's 'Gayest City' Designation

Salt Lake City's recent designation as the "gayest city in America" by The Advocate was met with genuine surprise from a number of publications as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) bloggers.

Now, late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel is sounding off on the Utah capital's newest title. Kimmel aired a short segment poking fun at the designation shortly after pondering, "I wonder how they measure this -- do they walk into the local Abercrombie & Fitch and see how full it is?"

Many in the LGBT community questioned the poll, which Advocate editors are quoted as saying was based on "per capita queerness" on "totally accurate if decidedly subjective criteria," given that cities with well-known LGBT populations like New York City and San Francisco placed lower on the list than most might expect.
