Super Bowl 2012 Odds Updated: Which Team Will Be Victorious In Super Bowl XLVI? (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 01/11/12 09:03 AM ET   Updated: 01/11/12 09:03 AM ET

After a thrilling Wild Card weekend, capped by Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos unbelievable overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the favorites to win Super Bowl XLVI still remain in Green Bay.

But the Patriots and Saints are right behind them, followed by the Ravens and 49ers.

The Packers had a bye in the first round and will take on the New York Giants in a rematch of an thrilling Week 13 contest, when Aaron Rodgers led Green Bay to a game-winning drive in the final minute at MetLife Stadium. After squeaking into the postseason by beating Dallas for the NFC East title in the season finale, the Giants' defense smothered Atlanta in the first round and New York went on to win 24-2.

In the AFC, the top-seeded Patriots must prepare for Tebow, again. Tom Brady and co. demolished Denver earlier this season, 41-23, but Denver's improbable win on Sunday night probably instilled some hope among Broncos fans (but nowhere else, since they're the least favored team).

The NFC championship game game is going to be the SF 49ers and the New York Giants.

The SB is going to be the Ravens and the New York Giants.

The winner of the SB is ?

I don't know much about the the how and why of the Wild Cards games, so can someone please explain to me why Denver (8-8) had home field vs the Steelers last weekend?
11:14 PM on 01/11/2012
Denver won their division. The Steelers were a wildcard team (the wildcard teams are the two best non-division winning teams in each conference), so even though they had a better record they are automatically the visiting team.

Thanks Brian. I didn't realize that Denver won their division. Now it makes sense. :o)

NY Giants will beat the Packers, unless the refs throw alot of questionable flags again, so the packers can steal another win...Rogers is hurt and the Giants are healthy and ready to go...The Giants aren't afraid of the Packers...lets see how many times Rogers get knocked around and hurried throws he makes...the cold won't bothe the Giants either...so cross your fingers and hope Rogers is 100 % healthy and can run around...he will be running all day....

Its hilarious to see people who clearly don't know anything about football talk about a team "stealing" a game because of "questionable flags".

The idea that the Giants will beat the Packers at Lambeau is even funnier.

What game did you watch? the ref's did all they could, taking a touchdown away even though the received was pushed out of bounds, otherwise he would have had both feet inbounds, defending a catch in the end zone receiver dropped the ball, but the giant player's hand touched his helment, so a flag, ball on the 1 yard line...but wait until sunday, the better team will win...NYG....Plus Vermont cheese has gotten more awards world wide than Wisconsin, i'm sure....

Brees MVP!! NO other QB broke the records Brees broke this year. Rodgers sits on the bench, and his back-up has a better game than he had all year. that just goes to show you Green Bay could go without him.

Speculating on sports is almost as difficult as speculating on politics; though not as inherently dangerous. Commenting on sports is even more dangerous than on religion.
So, leaving my own personal zones of safety, I M BOLD TO SAYNew England easily beats Denver. As seems to be the Pats regular mode of action, they will spot the Broncos a few points, as against Buffalo, and then the dump begins. And in the end they will face New Orleans. It will be a squeaker; with New England finally winning by five!!

Pack better be ready :) NYG are healthy. This could be a Pittsburgh nightmare all over again. A Packer's team that is beat up vs a very healthy NYG defense.

No myth what so ever go to nfl.com you'll find out the same information I did :) I found that there are 7 starters listed as probable/doubtfull and that no less than four of those seven did NOT participate in practices. Listed are James Starks RB, Chad Clifton T, Evan Smith C, Greg Jennings WR, Randall Cobb WR, Bryan Bulaga T, Rob Francios LB. Combine that with the fact that Greenbay's defense has been playing like crap, KC beat them, Detroit scoring over 40 points. The fact that the one game played in reg season with NYG Greenbay won by a mere 3 points. Of the Pack's 38 pts in that game 7 came from a Clay Mathews interception. The NYG ran quite successfully against the Pack Defense. So to assume this game to be a shoe in for Greenbay would be a grave mistake.

The Pack will go into Sunday's game with no less than 7 starters listed as either probable or doubtful. Four of the seven listed did not participate in practice this past week. Rob Francios LB, Chad Clifton T, Evan Smith C, Bryan Bulaga T, Greg Jennings WR, James Starks RB, Randell Cobb WR. Please feel free to verify this through nfl.com :) I wouldn't want you to think I had been spreading false rumors :) Greenbay's defense has been playing weak. Being beaten by KC, having Detroit score over 40 points against them. And lets face it they had one of the easiest post superbowl schedules I have seen a superbowl champ get. Combine that with the fact that NYG playing them only once in regular season and only being beat by 3 points. :) I'd say that Sunday's game is anything but a shoe in for Greenbay :)

Don't know about the eventual winner but I'll take the following this weekend...

Texans +7.5 (This may be THE dumbest pick but I sense the Ravens win by a TD at best).
Giants +7.5 (it was 9 but I'm inclined to think the real line is GB -4.5).
Niners +3.5 (I'm simply going with a good dog at home).
Pats - 13.5 (Dangerous because of the potential for a backdoor but...)

Anyone confident enough to pick a team to bet on? Seems to me that there are a lot of teams left in this tournament who have the ability to win it all.

Place money on Saints over 49ers. Sat.

The problem is the Saints are not very good on the road and on grass. They are unstoppable at home, but the game is at Candlestick. Likely to be a very interesting game!

Sounds about right. Although I think the odds for Houston and Denver are not that good.
