'American Idol' Stars Diana DeGarmo And Ace Young Secretly Dating For Two Years

"American Idol" alums Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo are coming clean.

The pair, who've been secretly dating for nearly two years, have finally opened up, dishing to PEOPLE about their under the radar romance. Young, 31, and DeGarmo, 24, join the long list of celebrity couples that met on set, but it wasn't the singing competition that brought these two together.

Young was on the fifth season of "American Idol" while DeGarmo sang her heart out on season three, but Broadway finally brought them together. They met as co-stars in the revival of the Broadway musical Hair. DeGarmo told PEOPLE, "We became best friends through Hair, ironically not through 'Idol.' It just blossomed into a beautiful relationship."

The pair currently live together in Los Angeles, Calif. and are working together again. They've started a band, All Access, and plan to continue to make sweet music together.

I stopped watching American Idol when Jennifer Lopez becasme a judge and will not watch it again unless she is no longer on it. If that means I will never see another episode then so be it there are plenty of other shows to watch.

Why would they call these two a "celebrity couple" their two kids who went on a singing competition.

They aren't "A" list but Diana is a successful Broadway actress and is currently playing Angelina on The Young and the Restless. There's an AI curiosity factor because in 10 years of American Idol there hasn't been a long term couple from the show, which is odd considering how many attractive, single men and women have been contestants.

Thank you my friend for that info. I did see in the article that they met as cast members on Broadway. The entertainment business is very different in todays day and age, with all the reality shows and different talent shows,it's very hard to keep up with all the people in that so-called spotlight. My daughter had a major crush on him when he was on Idol. We had to go see the Idol concert and get autographs, etc. she's older now but still loves Ace Young. I wonder how she'll take this news :)

Are you kidding? Diana DiGarmo was on Broadway since she was on American Idol. She has had a very good career. She deserved to win that year. She sang rings around Fantasia and where is she now?
