'Kimmel': Woody Harrelson Spoils 'NY Times' Writer's Anonymity

When Woody Harrelson gets to talking, he's liable to say just about anything. Especially, apparently, if he's being interviewed in Amsterdam -- where the laws about marijuana are much more lenient. But on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (Weeknights, 12 a.m. EST on ABC), he proved he could do it on American soil as well.

He was laughing about meeting up with New York Times reporter David Carr in Amsterdam, when Kimmel quipped that they were meeting there to "loosen him up a little bit," referring to Carr.

"No, no. He's a teetotaler. He's been in AA for a while," Harrelson blurted out. "I don't have that kind of courage, nor am I a quitter."

When Kimmel called him out on the "Anonymous" part of the AA acronym, Harrelson took pause. "Oh, right." He then turned to the camera to talk directly to Carr. "David, so sorry, dude."

Carr wrote openly about his past struggles with addiction in his recent memoir and has been pretty open about his life in general. Probably if it was something that really concerned him, it wouldn't have made it to air. Plus, Harrelson did apologize.

Harrelson can next be seen in the HBO film "Game Change" about the Republican Party during the 2008 election, currently set to premiere in March 2012, around the same time as the hotly anticipated "The Hunger Games," in theaters March 23, 2012. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs every weeknight at 12 a.m. EST on ABC.
