Elle Fanning At The Critics' Choice Awards 2012: Love It Or Leave It? (PHOTOS, POLL)

Elle Fanning might be one of the youngest fashion stars out there, but her style sense skews older -- much older. Save for Tavi, she might be the only 13-year-old who ever pulled off grandma glasses, not to mention a faded floral print and a thick, pearl-dotted cardigan.

But she's done the granny look once and she did it again last night. The "We Bought A Zoo" star walked the red carpet of the Critics' Choice Awards wearing a floor-length, tulle-wrapped dress covered in giant flowers.

While the mint color of the underlay was perfect choice, the marigold-colored flowers scattered on top were unfortunately reminiscent of some 1970s couch. Or curtains, perhaps, given the long, floaty feel of the dress.

Designed by Rodarte (Elle's label of choice), the dress certainly had the quirky, ethereal look Elle loves. But we couldn't get the image out of our minds that the print belonged on a piece of furniture rather than a 13-year-old...

On someone her age and with her fair sweet looks it's perfect. I wouldn't want to see it on someone older and less "sweet" looking.

As for being like Grandma's curtains, let's not forget the famous dress Scarlett O'Hara whipped up from Tara's velvet curtains. And then there's always the skirt I made years ago during tougher times from my husband's grandmother's old flowered cotton table cloth--still one of my favorite skirts.

I think she looks very cute and she's appropriate for a girl her age. But something about that gown reminds me of a 1970's bridesmaid dress.

I think it's cute and very age appropriate. She and her sister are both good actresses and have a unique style.

My 13 year old granddaughter has a lot of people that tell her she looks like Elle Fanning, after watching her in Super 8 last night I have to agree, she could be her double That's the first time I had seen her, she's a very good young actress. I hope Hollywood doesn't ruin her, like so many other kid actors that got into drugs and or their career was very short.
