Missing Teacher Reported Dead: Sherry Arnold Disappearance (UPDATE)

(UPDATE) Missing Teacher Reported Dead: 2 Charged With Kidnapping

UPDATE: Missing teacher Sherry Arnold's husband Gary Arnold and the mayor of Sidney, Mont. told Reuters that the high school teacher's body has not been discovered, contradicting earlier reports from The Dickinson Press and The Associated that said her remains had been found. Two men, Lester Vann Waters, 47, and Michael Keith Spell, 22, have been charged with kidnapping her, according to Reuters.

PREVIOUSLY: The body of a Montana math teacher who vanished six days ago has been found and authorities say that one man is in custody, according to The Dickinson Press.

The superintendent of the Sidney school district in northeastern Montana where Sherry Arnold taught high school confirmed on Friday that the 43-year-old woman is dead, KRTV reported.

Arnold went out for a run on Saturday and never returned. One of her running sneakers was found in a roadside ditch, sparking a search that drew in agents from the FBI.

Police and the FBI didn't reveal any other details about Arnold's death, according to CNN.

There also wasn't any available information about the suspect, although an FBI investigator told The Associated Press that a tip from the public led to the suspect. A second man is under questioning in connection with the case, The AP says.
