'The Office': The Gang Plays the Quiet Game, Competes In Trivia Night (VIDEO)

'The Office' Plays The Quiet Game

"The Office" (Thursdays, 9 p.m. EST on NBC) continues to find fun and unique ways to spotlight how mundane office life can be by showing ways the gang finds to fill their day. This week's opening scene had them playing a game to see how long the entire office could go without saying a word. Their record isn't very long, but with Kevin and his candy bars, it's practically a losing proposition.

The episode itself was split in two, with one featuring Dwight's impromptu trip to Florida to lobby for a management position with a very reluctant Robert California. The main story followed the rest of the office to Oscar's trivia night competition, in an attempt to win enough money to buy enough paper to meet their quarterly projections. But really, the office crew was just doing it because it sounded fun.

They split into three teams divided by who should do best, and then everyone was surprised that their "C" team was the one who ultimately pulled through, despite some very loopy answers along the way. So it was a very strange mission accomplished in an episode that took the gang out of the office and still found ways to spotlight the entire cast.

Plus, Dwight got to see just how respected Gabe isn't down at corporate, though at the same time he may still have earned more respect than Dwight himself. It remains to be seen if Dwight's tenacity in tracking Robert to his house will serve him well or keep him right where he is.

"The Office" airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
