'SNL' Slams Ricky Gervais, Golden Globes Hosting Hype (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'SNL' Slams Ricky Gervais

Jason Sudeikis had one of the funniest sketches of this weekend's Daniel Radcliffe-helmed "Saturday Night Live", channeling self-satisfied Golden Globes provocateur, Ricky Gervais.

Since his controversial performance as host of last year's Hollywood Foreign Press awards ceremony, Gervais has seemed to milk the subversiveness of public persona for all it's worth. In fact, discussion over whether he would be asked to host this year's Globes jumped the shark last January, so it stands to reason that many people are already over his latest performance before it's technically happened.

But, until now, no one had expressed Gervais-overload as brutally poignantly as "SNL." Sudeikis' Gervais scandalizes awards audience after awards audience, taking on children, animals and even flowers, relishing every, "oh, yes, I went there" moment.

But we have to admit, in addition to providing a perfect moment of "industry eating its own" catharsis, the sketch has actually made us a little bit more excited for seeing Gervais hosting tonight, if only to see just how perfectly Sudeikis nailed it.

Check out the whole clip above and let us know if you're looking forward to seeing Gervais at the Globes tonight.
