Golden Globes 2012: Natalie Portman Walks Red Carpet One Year After Baby Bump Spotlight

Natalie Portman and fiance Benjamin Millepied were all smiles on the red carpet at the 2012 Golden Globes and boy, what a difference a year makes.

All eyes were on Portman at the 2011 Golden Globes, where she won the Best Actress award for her role in "Black Swan" -- but even more eyes were on her growing baby bump. Portman announced her pregnancy and engagement in December 2010, and with awards season just around the corner, she was certainly the talk of the town.

This year, Portman is a presenter at the ceremony and has spent the latter half of 2011 being a mom to son Aleph, who was born in June.

OK, can I tell you how tired I am of people making excuses for themselves not getting back into shape after a baby? "Oh, she has chefs and trainers and yada yada yada." Yeah, she DOES have those things. She's an actress, and those are ALL tax deductible because of her profession. Know what YOU have? Diet plans, weights that be bought at any garage sale, a pair of sneakers, and miles of roads you could walk everyday, exercise DVDs, yoga classes at the local Y, etc. and so forth. Really, your whining is just cynicism.

I go to a gym 5 days a week, usually for 2 hours. Some of the women I see daily have great bodies and have given birth to several children. These are not wealthy women, they do not have maids and cooks, etc. However, one in particular had the body of a goddess. She wanted to have a baby but found after several miscarriages, she couldn't carry one beyond the first trimester. So to sustain a pregnancy she stayed in bed for 6 months.....not only pregnant, but also with eveything else turning to flab (as she described it) She delivered a healthy baby and well within a year.....much less, I believe, had recovered her gorgeous shape whle also holding down a job in a bank. She was not an affluent woman. It can be done and having money has less to do with it than having will power.

What does a disabled person have to do with the discussion as it was presented....the concerpt that only wealthy women can get into great condion after having a baby? My comments were an observation of women who were not wealthy and did it just as well. Disability is another issue altogether.

Natalie is beautiful, and one of my favorite actors. That being said, c'mon..she has trainers, chefs, and round the clock help with the baby. I dont think anyone is suprised that she looks flawless a year after having one baby.

Even with all the money at hand for trainers and such, a lot also has to do with youth. At least for me, I had an easier time losing after my first 3 than I had after my last 3. I did it, it was just tougher. You can move quicker and you're more flexable when you're younger. At any rate, Natalie is indeed a very beautiful young woman and indeed, a very good actress.

I'll bet we start to see these bustles more and more now. Every week it seems, a new 'fashion look' is born especially among celebrities. I can't decide if I care much for it for it or not, but nothing I would wear myself.
