'How I Met Your Mother' 150th Episode: The Gang Replaces Lily And Marshall (VIDEO)

Replacing Lily And Marshall On 'How I Met Your Mother'

It was an episode of transition and some fun with the intro sequence as "How I Met Your Mother" (Mon., 8 p.m. EST on CBS) celebrates its milestone 150th episode. Say goodbye to Marsahall and Lily's New York apartment, and hello to their new suburban house on Long Island. Will the gang, or the show, ever be the same?

For the bulk of the episode, the gang was split in two. While Marshall and Lily were realizing that Lily's dad (Chris Elliott) had quickly overstayed his welcome, the gang -- plus Kevin -- was figuring out how dangerous and different hanging out is without them. With no Lily to shut the idea down, everyone jumped on board Barney's idea to go to a strip club.

There they ran into stripper-Lily -- one of the gang's doppelgangers -- and immediately decided her boyfriend was their Marshall replacement. Only, this led the night into some pretty dark places. In fact, by the end of it, only Ted was still on board with all the craziness.

Finally, they realized that it didn't matter where they were, only who they were with. So a shot of their booth at MacLaren's transitioned to a shot of the gang hanging out in the kitchen of Marshall and Lily's house. Does this mark a fundamental change in the story, with more suburban adventures getting mixed into the New York urban adventures?
