Cindy Crawford Daughter, Kaia Gerber, Lands Young Versace Campaign (PHOTO)

Like mother, like daughter.

10-year-old Kaia Gerber, spawn of supermodel Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, has landed herself an ad campaign. For Versace.

Before you get all up in arms about appropriateness, we should clarify that the campaign is for Young Versace, the Italian brand's label for kids ages 0-12. And mama Cindy was right there on set when Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot took the snaps (so expect no crazy lawsuits this time).

Crawford said in a press release:

"I'm so thrilled that Kaia was chosen to be part of the first Young Versace Campaign. I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with Gianni and Donatella. There is something so very special about the House of Versace. Being on-set with my daughter watching her in front of the camera was a fantastic experience. I am so proud of her."

All together now: awwww. Cindy should be especially excited about Kaia's future in fashion -- given that she's basically a Cindy doppleganger, we predict she's got a long modeling career ahead of her if she continues down this path.

But if she decides this is her last foray into her mother's territory, she's accomplished at least one thing: she's proven that there are actually children out there who will wear those expensive kiddie designer lines.

Good for Cindy Crawford! 10 years old is still a child; let her be a child until she's much older and can make decisions that are appropriate with being an older teenager or young adult.

I am the child of a top model who went on to become one although my sisters did not. I can tell you from experience, it's hard not being pretty when you have a gorgeous mother. It doesn't matter whether it's right or wrong. It's the way it is. Unfortunately, beauty has always been coveted. Doesn't replace brains. I see nothing wrong with Kaia following in her mother's footsteps. I am quite sure they will not Kardashian her.

I don't necessarily have a problem with the outfit, I do have a problem with the amount of retouching and photoshop that has been done to this photo to make a little girl look more womanly and, yes, more sexual for her age. The pose, angle of the camera and retouching in the face has all been used to make her look more womanly then is natural at her age. The way her hands push out her coat to emphasize a bust, the emphasis on her hips by the belt and her legs. I mean, honestly, if you don't see that, than you must be a little blind... I guess it's never too early to feel pressured to have long legs, tits, and designer clothes!

I see Kaia Gerber around town often. That is what she looks like. Her hands in her pockets are not there to give her boobs. It's a retro photo ala Brooke Shields. The outfit is silly expensive- but there are several stores around the world that sell Versace for kids. Especially popular in Moscow. Around the beach, she is usually in jeans or cut offs and a t shirt and still is absolutely stunning. Some kids have a grown up face at 10. The only thing that gives their age away is missing teeth. I looked 16 at 10 and had the boobs to complete the older look. My parents could have put me in smocked dresses and it would not have changed my mature face, cheek bones and older look. She will appear younger in her thirties. That is the up side. Her long legs are inherited, it's not like she can make them shorter. Both parents are very tall, with long legs. Her older brother is a great looking boy too.

In restaurants, the kids have good manners and seem to enjoy a nice family life. you seem to have examined this photo in earnest. her face is natural, a wind machine, commonly used, shows her thick hair. Like i said, it's an homage to Scavulllo and his photos of Brooke Shields. but, these parents won't have her playing a child hooker. Ever.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that they are trying to tell young girls that not only is that type of dress appropriate, but FASIONABLE, OR that Cindy pimped out her daughter just to keep the money rolling in now that she is getting old and will not be able to turn a buck anymore soon!

You should establish a disclaimer that is your opinion and not fact.

Cindy has made so much money, and is intelligent along with the rest of her package, she probably doesn't have to worry about money in the future. Investments will carry her through. Now my disclaimer ... that is my opinion - I don't know for sure but it is a pretty good educated guess. As for fashion - the outfit doesn't look so bad for the age .... just expensive. IMHO.
