Senseteam's Money Portraits Provoke Thought, Wonder (PHOTOS)

You Won't Believe What These Portraits Are Made From?!

Chinese creative agency senseteam (site currently down) gave new meaning to the phrase "made of money" when they created a series of artworks using currency from all around the world.

The images resemble traditional Chinese embroidered patchworks and depict a variety of faces. There's a haunting intricacy about the pieces, typified by the foreboding eyeballs in the first image in the below slideshow.

Designboom reports that the images belie a greater truth than an immediate, anti-consumerism message and, rather, engage the viewer in a conversation about the fluidity of commerce and "the human, cultural foundation behind a given currency."

The posters have ben awarded a gold award at the Design for Asia Awards.
