Santigold Features Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, And Lindsay Lohan In 'Big Mouth' Video

She growls, she dives underwater, she stomps through the desert. But somehow, Santigold's music video for her track "Big Mouth" works.

In addition to frantically bearing all the teeth in her "big mouth," the singer uses animation to critique pop culture, showing Lady Gaga swimming through the ocean as a mermaid, Katy Perry with her signature blue hair, and a not-so-flattering portrayal of Lindsay Lohan's boobs.

Since bursting on the scene as Santogold in 2008, the singer-songwriter has swapped the first "o" in her name for an "i" and has toured with M.I.A. and Bjork. Her album Master Of My Make-Believe, out this spring, features collaborations with "TV On The Radio's" David Sitek and the "Yeah Yeah Yeahs'" Nick Zinner.

This should push her out of the indie world and right in the cross hairs of the world's biggest pop stars.

Don't know who Santigold is, never heard of her, but I enjoyed the video. Don't think I'd watch it more than once, vs. watching Lady Gaga's videos multiple times.

There is such a thing as bad music and just because you like something, that doesn't make it good. Fans do NOT need to defend artists. Simply take in the art, apply critical thought, decide if it's good or bad, then decide if you like it or not.

That's such an ironic statement because all of these ladies had to start somewhere. They broke in, like all actors and musicians. They start from nothing, attract a following and go from there. That is what stardom is all about.

I like her music but what I don't get with these artists is; why are they worrying about the next person? There's enough room out there for every genre and a fan doesn't have to dislike one artist in order to like another within the same or similar genre. I like Gaga, I like Katy Perry, Lohan - not so much, but it's my choice. I don't have to hate Madonna in order to like Gaga; I don't have to hate Lil Kim in order to like Nicky Minaj, and the list goes on and on. Basically, if you're confident in your art then you won't have time nor care to point out flaws in the next artist.

I've never heard of Santigold, I'm sure if I've heard any of her songs either, but it does look pathetic when someone has to rag on people that are more successful than themselves just to get media attention. Whether you like Gaga and Katy or not (I personally don't), you still need to give the respect for their success and talent (talent comes in many other forms other than just vocal).

Her first album is amazing, and just because you don't know about her and she portrays someone in a not so flattering way, doesn't mean she's trying to GET attention...Just means she wanted to say something about them. Period. So what...I doubt any of those artists are gonna crumble under this...

I love how people think that if they've never heard of someone, or if they're not featured on Entertainment Tonight, they must not have any talent. It has been my experience that the artists NOT in the mainstream are usually far more talented and worthy than the mass marketed junk played over and over on the radio. I'll take Santi White any day over those media clowns!
