Kobe Bryant Divorce Settlement: Vanessa To Receive Three Homes?

Kobe Bryant's soon-to-be ex-wife Vanessa will walk away with the couple's three Newport Beach mansions, TMZ reports. The homes are part of the reported $75 million Vanessa will be receiving in the divorce settlement -- half the couples' estimated $150 million fortune.

Because the pair have no prenup -- and California is a community property state -- Vanessa may be entitled to half her NBA star ex's earnings during their 10-year marriage. According to ESPN, Kobe is expected to make $25,244,493 this year.

Divorce documents (via TMZ) indicate that Vanessa requested joint custody of the couple's two daughters, 8-year-old and 5-year-old Giana. She also asked for spousal support, which Kobe agreed to.

Shortly after the docs were filed, the former couple released a statement that they had reached a settlement out of court: "The Bryants have resolved all issues incident to their divorce privately with the assistance of counsel and a judgment dissolving their marital status will be entered in 2012," according to a statement from a representative for the couple."

The pair tied the knot in 2001.

Facts: 1) They married young 2) They have no pre nup 3) She toughened it out for 10+ years 4) He committed adultry 5) Children were born unto them 6) By CA law, she is entitled to 1/2 of everything 7) CA law, she rightfully deserves to continue to live in the means she is accustomed to 8) She deserves everything she that she is getting.......
Too bad he was a cheat and it didn't work out for them. She is young and shouldn't have a hard time finding someone who will respect her, hopefully. Money does crazy things to people. I hope she finds true love.

His folks specifically warned him not to marry this girl when he did, because he was too young. He did not have much life experience when he got hitched. I think the girl was still in highschool when they married. These athletes live in a different universe than the rest of us. I have no sympathy for Kobe, his close call in Colorado shoulda taught him a lesson. Funny thing is that he'd do it again. Once a cheat, you know how it goes.

But of course she need spously support with $45 - $60 million in her pocket not including the 3 homes. but one thing is right they married young and kobe was dumb for not having a prenup tisk tisk at for being sprung on her at such at young age. I think this was quick because he didn't want any sordid PI evidence leaked. They didn't need to put the children thru that anyway. Kobe was young when he married and so was Vanessa, just 18. She's a woman now and knows that multiple people in a marriage have to be agreed upon.

These athletes should wait until they're over age 25, near 30, to get married the first time and not a day younger. Too much temptation and maturing to do.

Vanessa did what she had to do though, being a dutiful wife and mother and she deserves what she's getting. She hung in there for 10+ yrs. Juanita Jordan stayed for 17 yrs and was dragged all the way. MJ was too young when they married too. How much are women willing to put up with?

How can something be declared rape when you knowingly go up to a male guest's (celebrity no less) room alone late in the evening? Didn't the hotel have a policy?? Then to have 2-3 different samples of sperm in your underwear? That woman was shameful for filing that case and now laughs all the way to the bank.

Same thing with that Flowers chick who said Mike Tyson raped her. How are you going to go out in your pj's at 1:00am, in a limo, when he's coming to pick you up to take you back to his hotel???

I've been to concerts where the band invited our entire table to their hotel rooms. I immediately said no because I didn't personally know them. I'm no groupie and I told the ladies they were crazy if they went. Nobody did. We have to use quick common sense instead of celebrity infatuation.

Now a days you have to marry someone that will be at least equal value to you status wise. Wow, why so angry, you would think it was your money. Apparently Kobe didn't mind her having the mansions so why do you care? If someone offered you 75mm and 3 mansions that you did nothing to earn, except maybe pop out some sex a few times, would you turn it down and say 'No wait a minute, my conscious won't let me take it. I'll give it back and go on and work my regular job and live off my regular paycheck... I think not.

Well Kobe cheated in his marriage so it's definitely his fault that his wife filed for a divorce. Kobe didn't have a prenup in place so it's definitely his fault for not protecting his money. Seems like when men continue to act stupid and not use the head that sits on their shoulders instead of the one that rests below their navel, life ain't fair. lol
