Mitt Romney Says Only He Has Lived On The 'Real Streets Of America'

After Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum dove into a bitter dispute over ancient history from the halls of Congress, Mitt Romney says the argument is a "perfect example of why we need to send to Washington someone who has not lived in Washington, but someone who's lived in the real streets of America."

That'll be easy for Romney: at last count, he currently lives on at least eight streets in America.

His intent here was not to claim normalcy, but political outsider status. Taken out of context, it is one of those great Mittens one liners, but that's not what he meant and intelligent people know that. What he meant was that Newt and Santorum are "Washington Insiders" and he is not. That in itself is a monstrous lie. He was raised by a politician, and has been running for office, whether winning it or not, for the last 20 years.

Maybe he means the shady streets of Grosse Point. Or the unforgiving boulevards of Paris's 6th arrondissement, where he lived in a squalid palace with only one chef(!) while on his "missionary" service.
