I have another idea for these 'job creators' how about using that money to build a few refineries in North Dakota or Northern Minnesota or Wyoming, Montana, Idaho? Permanent jobs in the northern states where these jobs don't already exist like they do in Texas. Pipeline my hind quarters, I need cheaper heating fuel from up here, not delivered to Texas and then shipped back up here! Why is it that only Texas knows how to build and operate refineries? Why not ship the oil to one of the existing refineries in the northern states? Makes liars and thieves out of the whole bunch by proposing this pipeline. Somebody please explain why we need a multi-billion dollar pipeline to refine this oil? Ever hear of putting all ones eggs in one basket? A few new refineries in the northern states would help to secure our petroleum accessibility in the event of a hurricane or other natural catastrophe and would make for more difficult targets for terrorists. This pipeline cannot get up and running any faster than a new refinery closer to the source. Oh, and by the way, oil from Canada IS foreign oil, just in the same hemisphere.

Our President as usual is a flat out Liar he said jobs were is #1 priority and with bipartisen approval Keystone gets passed and he doesnt sign it. Well I guess its not Solyndra a blow of 500 million to taxpayers were as Keystone would not cost us 1 dime and we might as well continue to buy our oil from the very same people who want to kill us. NICE JOB MAKING JOBS 100000 OF THEM YOUR TOP PRIORITY!!!!!!!!!!

what a load! Nebraska didn't want the pipeline! Obama shouldn't be blamed, he should be applauded. For once, the Federal Government didn't trample on States' Rights.

Check your facts. Nebraska Gov and Senator Johanns support the XL pipeline after detour around Ogallala Aquifer was volunteerily agreed to by Trans Canada.
Pipe line will also carry crude from Montana and North Dakota to refineries in Illinois as well as the Gulf. Pipeline will also carry crude to hubs in Oklahoma.
The major concerns about pipeline are not over possible spills but the general concern that the pipeline goes against environmentalists fight to reduce oil use and its contribution to global warming.

We have. Dave Heineman called a special session, changed the laws in Nebraska so that TransCanada no longer had a route in Nebraska though the Ogallala Aquifer. Even if the pipeline avoided the aquifer, it would've had to be studied before approval. The Republicans weren't having it so . . .

if there was no concern about spills, then why detour around the Aquifer?
