According to ESPN.com, Tiger Woods is not pleased about Hank Haney's upcoming book, 'The Big Miss' -- which will delve into Haney's time as Woods' coach.

"I think it's unprofessional and very disappointing," Woods told ESPN.com in a telephone interview, "especially because it's someone I worked with and trusted as a friend.

"There have been other one-sided books about me, and I think people understand that this book is about money. I'm not going to waste my time reading it."

Earlier this month, Haney revealed his intent to release the book right before the Masters.

"I was a witness to greatness," Haney told ESPN.com Thursday. "And I get asked the question all the time about Tiger. I wanted to talk about it and I wanted to share it with people. That's the bottom line. I'm not sure I understand the unprofessionalism part. He hasn't read the book. There's a lot of positives in there. I think he's the greatest golfer who ever lived.

"I was just in a position to observe greatness and anyone who observes greatness likes to share it. I feel like I wrote a book that was fair and honest. It's golf history."

According to ESPN.com, Haney did not contact Woods about the book.

Haney and Woods won six majors as a coach-player tandem, and also picked up 31 wins.

"Again, I want to thank Hank for everything he did for me," Woods told ESPN.com.

I am sure that Tiger will write memoirs or books about his life and career...will he mention fellow golfers, friends, wive(s), girl friends, family members he's had in his life? What else would he write about. Haney is writing about his life as a golf coach...who else would he write about but the golfers he coached. Unless the information Haney writes is false, Tiger has no right to complain. People own their own history. Tiger is complaining about Haney doing a book just "for the money". What does Tiger do endorsements for?...I imagine it's the money. What's good for the Tiger is good for the Haney. Grow up and stop whining Tiger. You have sought fame and celebrity...you reap what you sow.

I never bought anything because it was endorsed by anyone in the sports world. That said, that is why I do not have a "vested interest" in maintaining anyone's image.

If Newt Gingrich is getting a pass for cheating on his wives (plural) so must Tiger for cheating on his wife (singular).

It is certainly weird that so many have voted for Gingrich today here in SC.

There are a lot of conservative Baptists and Newt plays well to that type of audience. He is also from Georgia so he’s a local boy. I expect he’ll do well all across the Bible belt but not so well the northern and western states. We are still very early in the primary process and there is still a long way to go.

Golf. Oh ... and humanity.

Woods is a lowlife and has a nerve to question anyone else's motives...he cheated on his wife with numerous women and portrayed himself as a family man...repulsive.

This is going to be a best seller, seeing he's making a big stink over it. Had he been smart he'd have left it go and said nothing. As the saying goes " much ado about nothing" you should have just let it go, but now you've peeked everyones curiosity..

ESPN asked him his opinion. He had not commented prior to that; had he said nothing, it would have appeared sour grapes. I agree that it is a violation since Haney tried to project himself as "family" but did not preview the book with him - it is the same betrayal "Haney complained that Tiger goes through more than we know" and he has done the same thing. As Tiger said, it is about money. Haney "blew up" after working with Tiger - he has been around for years without the stature or status he enjoyed working with Tiger. He got his show because of his connection with Tiger and made "bank" Tiger's old Friend Charles even introduced Haney to his current wife. So I understand his angst and misgivings. Who can you trust? Notice the initial reports said that most people in Tiger's camp sign non-disclosure agreements, but none was sought from Haney - hence family turning on relationship and trading for cash. It happens in those circles.

Think of the irony,,,his fans want him to be real, genuine , approachable, not aloof...a regular guy. Then, when he acts like a normal person who feels betrayed by a friend for financial gain he is excoriated by critics. We are living in interesting times.Love him, hate him...it's unlikely you will see the likes of this caliber of player anytime soon.

I suppose most of you wives would be flattered if your husband went down to the local bar and spread tales of all the kinky sex he had with you. I don't think so . When you hire someone as an employee and pay them well, confide in them,it should be in confidence, and nothing less. I may be in the minority, but having respect for people ,I learned when I was in the crib as child . As you know, most gossip is completley distorted by the time it gets to your ears . .
05:22 PM on 01/20/2012
What are you, his PR? Us wives would care less, seeing he would be our ex as Elin is his now.. And I doubt Elin would care , seeing she got a good chunk of his change.

rd--Get off your soap box of self-righteousness. All the things you DIDN'T learn in the crib, or since, are evident in your silly diatribe. Have you read the as-yet-unreleased book? It's not gossip. It's direct reporting from one who was there.

I revisited the game of golf because of my admiration for Tiger. What he did in his life as a role model was shamefull. He apologized, payed dearly, financially as well as emotionally. He deserves the the opportunity to live his life.Hank,Stevie, you were false friends, and profited greatly from Tiger's skills.I have also profited health wise because of my new dedication to this great sport, and I'm in my 70's
Do we all remember last Dec the final 2 holes that we saw Tiger that Sunday show us his magic
Thanks,Tiger,it's great to have you back

So... he hasn't read the book but he knows it's one sided and unprofessional?
