'Shark Tank': NBA Champ Bill Walton Surprises Sharks As Product Mascot (VIDEO)

NBA Champ Bill Walton Is Big Bottle Mascot On 'Shark Tank'

Viewers of the Tour de France probably remember the giant man-sized water bottle that was running alongside the cyclists during various parts of the race. The announcers had a lot of fun talking about it. The brainchild of David Mayer, it was his creative marketing initiative for Clean Bottle, a water bottle that opens on both sides. Now he's looking to take the product to the next level, so he brought "Bottle Boy" with him to "Shark Tank" (Fri., 8 p.m. EST on ABC).

The "Sharks" were absolutely stunned -- or at least most of them were -- when "Bottle Boy" took off his head piece to reveal two-time NBA champion Bill Walton underneath. Mayer had seen him at a basketball game, and knew him as a cycling enthusiast, and so approached him to see if he wanted to get involved.

A great product and an innovator with guts and heart is the perfect foundation for success. Clean Bottle has gone about as far as it can without major backing. Luckily, the combination of hooking Walton and the product itself convinced Mark Cuban to get on board. For an 8 percent stake in the company, he agreed to invest $60,000.

See which inventions pop up as next as "Shark Tank" continues Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
