Fly To Baku Exhibition At Phillips de Pury Features Contemporary Azerbaijani Artists

Take A Trip To Azerbaijan

A new exhibit at a London gallery is showing the art work of 21 contemporary artists from Azerbaijan. Simon de Pury commented on his visit to the country Phillips de Pury & Company's website, "We were struck by the vibrant art scene and the quality and originality of the artists we visited," so he enlisted Herve Mikaeloff to curate the group of up-and-coming Azerbaijani designers, sculptors, photographers, and artists. Mikaeloff is responsible for advising and curating projects for the LVMH group, aka Louis Vuitton, so we expected sleek pieces and design porn; we were pleasantly surprised with Niyaz Naja's Francis Bacon-like piece and we wanted to curl up into Faig Ahmed's sculpture and take a nap.
