'Myrrh Drips From Putin Icon' According To Cult Followers

Vladimir Putin Cult

The cult that worships Vladimir Putin as a saint has announced that myrrh has begun to drip from its icon of the Russian prime minister.

"Attention! Starting from Thursday, the icon of Vladimir Putin was renewed and started seeping myrrh," the group said in a statement. "God is giving us signs of His gracious presence."

The Chapel of Russia's Resurrection was founded by a former convict called Svetlana Frolova in the Nizhny Novgorod region, and believes that Putin is a reincarnation of both St. Paul the Apostle and Vladimir the Great, the first Christian ruler of the Kievan Rus.

"Now Vladimir Vladimirovich will baptize anew our pagan country!" Mother Fotina, as Frolova calls herself, declared on the group's website.

Neither Mr. Putin nor the Russian Orthodox Church have so far commented on the second so-called miracle surrounding the icon, which Frolova claims appeared from nowhere one day in her chapel.

But Mr. Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov, has made passing reference to the sect in the past, saying that it is "impressive" that they "think so highly of his [Putin's] work," but cautioning that it is against the ten commandments to worship "false idols."

The sect reportedly consists entirely of women, who meet in a small three story brick building in Bolshaya Yelnia, a small town near the Volga River.

Fact remains that Putin has been the best leader and most talented administrator that Russia had since Catherine the Great. Under Putin's leadership Russian Federation has avoided economic and political meltdown precipitated by alarmingly incompetent Gorbachev and especially Yeltsin.
Russia is more prosperous now that it has ever been.
I AM upset Putin continues to grasp to power. It marks his otherwise brilliant political legacy.

These past few weeks I've been privileged to work with a young engineer from Poland. Man, does this guy hate the Russians! It made me appreciate that occupying powers may be the most hated of all. The Israelis should think about that.

Vladimir Putin has said that he's not happy about the breakup of the USSR. Obviously, my new friend from Poland would disagree. I hope that as Russia continues on as a country much freer than it was before, more and more Russians will feel more comfortable with their own freedom. And I can't say it bothers me that Vladimir Putin experiences all this as a deep personal defeat.

And from which parts of the statue is this mysterious substance dripping? That might be a clue to whether this is a blessing, or a curse.

And all my Putin icon does is Judo. Sucks.

It was probably a mixture of the dioxins and pallonium he used to silence some of the people who spoke against him. Anyway what's this about a religious cult worshipping him? I thought communists didn't 'do' religion?

Ummm. Russia has not been communist for two decades. And eastern orthodox extremism is coming back big time.

Russia may not be communist but I think Putin still is even if he won't admit it

The communist party elite are gone, but, from what I read, the state terror apparatus and informer network has regrown its tenacles and reaches into every group, school, building, office, business and governing body in Russia.

but Bush looked into his eye and saw his soul!!!

Yes, one of Bush's many pronouncements that are just plain stupid.

George W. Bush commuted the prison sentence of Scooter Libby, who leaked the identity of a covert CIA operative. But none of his alarm bells went off when he looked into the eyes of a well-trained former KGB agent, who RECENTLY said that he viewed the breakup of the USSR as one of the worst mistakes in human history.

George H. W. Bush did so much to help us win the Cold War. It's ironic that his son was so clueless with Putin. Putin must have been astonished at George W.'s sheer stupidity.

Pathetic little man...
Reminds me of that old story about the little lizard bragging he was a Brontosaurus on his mother's side of the family...
Hope he goes big game hunting again, and the big game has him for lunch.
Well a snack at any rate.

Now you can understand how G. Rasputin wrought so much chaos in the Tsarist administration before he was "plugged" by Prince Yusupov in 1916(?)...... Flattery still works....!

"The Chapel of Russia's Resurrection was founded by a former convict called Svetlana Frolova in the Nizhny Novgorod region"

In the 1990s under Boris Yeltsin, Russia prison population swelled to millions - mostly for petty economic crimes (like stealing food). Conditions were so terrible that tuberculosis came back and rampaged through the new paupers' prisons. VVP had those convicted of petty crimes released from that death sentence.
