State Of The Union Time 2012: When The President's Speech Starts And Where To Watch It

President Barack Obama will deliver his State of the Union speech on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 9 p.m. EST. The event is expected to last at least an hour, after which Gov. Mitch Daniels of Indiana will deliver the Republican response.

Come 9 p.m., there's a number of ways you can watch and follow the speech online. Perhaps the easiest of all is the official White House website, which will not only be streaming the speech live, but will be accompanied by charts, stats, and data that helped to bring the address together.

Other sites, such as MSNBC and CNN, will be streaming the event live. The Huffington Post will also run liveblog coverage of the event, accompanied by an embedded live video feed.

On television, ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC will all air the speech, as well as cable channels like CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News.

Last year, the president's speech was leaked before it began. Obama's remarks spread quickly online just two hours before his address. Chances are the speech may be a little more closely guarded this year, in light of last year's incident.

Obama's election year SOTU speech is already being met with criticism on the right side of the aisle. House Speaker John Boehner has already said it will be "pathetic" if Obama repeats a similar message to the one he's been touting for the past three years, according to Fox News.

"They made it worse," the speaker told Fox News Sunday, referring to the president's economic policies. "And if that's what the president is going to talk about Tuesday night, I think it's pathetic. I think it's time for the president to listen to his own jobs council. It's time to go in a new direction."
