Kim Kardashian Gives $50,000 To Trevor Project

Kim Kardashian strutted her charitable side when she gave a generous $50,000 to an LGBT suicide prevention program, US Weekly Magazine reports.

The reality starlet fundraised for the Trevor Project back in September when she attended a 9/11 Cantor Fitzgerald event.

"The firm lost more than 600 employees in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001 and yesterday, on the 10th anniversary of the attacks, they donated all revenues from their trades to charities around the world," Kardashian wrote on her blog after attending the event. "I was honored to take part!!"

A source close to Kardashian told RumorFix.com that "it’s important to Kim to support The Trevor Project because lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people face extreme levels of hate and discrimination in her generation and she knows that they need safe places like the Trevor Project to turn for help."

This donation is just one a few benevolent gestures Kardashian recently offered up to deserving organizations.

At the end of her short-lived marriage, the former Mrs. Humphries donated the value of her wedding gifts to the Dream Foundation.

She's also auctioned personal items online, and donated some of the profits to charity, and Kardashian recently took a trip to Haiti with Kris Jenner and actress Maria Bello. While there, the group helped the organization We Advance, a nonprofit whose mission statement says: "We are stronger together than we are alone."

Did the reporter check the facts for this story? If Kardashian "fundraised," didn't she donate others' money? That's my understanding of the word. Also, others report that Kim K and that mother of hers met Maria Bello in Haiti, but Bello founded We Advance. Jenner and KK had nothing to do with that and pretty much didn't do anything of any importance while they were there.

I wonder if Kim made it $50,000 because she generously cares or if she knew that $50,000 would put her in the tabloids. And I don't understand how money is going to prevent gays from committing suicide.

You don't understand because you are willfully obtuse. You've never heard of a suicide prevention hotlines? They have operating expenses like everything else. As for her motives, well very very few things that anybody does in this world come from completely pure and selfless motives.

those gifts she donated were not hers to give. They should have been returned to the giver. Also they were given to Ker and Chris. I knew she would never give her own money. what a joke this woman is

Call it "Damage Control" or seeking more PR...I say so what? The Trevor Project does amazing work in the area of Suicide prevention of Teens...so thank you Kim, I don't care one bit if you had an agenda when you made the donation...just keep digging in your wallet, and tell your self centered, self absorbed Mommy to do the same...she is out of control in the "Me Me Me' dept.. No wonder you have made such bad choices, look at your role model. Clue: If Kris says "go right", turn left, if Kris says "Don't do it"..well you might want to do it. I'm just saying..

Chuckie...I understand your feelings..but the money is a god send, and honestly if it saves one life it doesn't matter one bit where it comes from. Kim is just a person who is making huge life mistakes a lot of people make, but she chose to do it all on TV, and now she is paying the price. I personally can't stand her, but we must show some compassion if we expect any in return in this life. So thanks Kim....keep digging in your wallet, we will let you know when to stop. LOL

Just a publicity stunt to keep your face on the news! There are a lot of people who make sizeable donations to charities and do not broadcast it. She saw a way of making her look good and capitalized on it. How sad! She's brainless!
