Mahler Project At The Walt Disney Concert Hall Gets Time Lapsed (VIDEO)
Forty-eight hours of sequential photos, 1,000 musicians and the production of one of the largest classical choral productions in history seems like a lot to fit into a video spanning a mere minute and 27 seconds. When the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra documented their preparation for Mahler Symphony No. 8 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, though, it is 87 seconds of time-lapse panache. The video shows the impressive staging and rehearsal of the the upcoming Mahler Project, set to debut Feb. 4 at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium in memoriam of the 100th anniversary of composer Gustav Mahler's death.
