U.S. Army Capt. Eric Perkins likes to do things big.

That's why he surprised his 5-year-old daughter Ellie at her kindergarten classroom after returning from an 8-month deployment in Afghanistan, reports.

Perkins warned the TV crew that he would likely cry. When he entered the classroom, though, the father and daughter cried together.

Ellie ran up to her father and leapt into his arms the minute she saw him walk into the classroom.

"You're crying. Uh huh, I see your tears," Ellie said, as she wiped her father's laughing face.
