Michael Jackson Joins Hollywood's Most Honored At Grauman's Chinese Theater

Michael Jackson Immortalized

To all of you who tried endlessly to learn to moonwalk to no avail, or to those of us who just played the scenario out in our mind, the man who inspired us all received a big 'thank you' from Hollywood yesterday at the Grauman's Chinese Theater.

The epic Hollywood landmark is known for its outdoor cement mementos of celebrity handprints and autographs, as well as being the site of a scandal when actress Maureen O'Hara was accused of "cuddling" with a Latin gentleman back in 1957. The VIP pavement also immortalizes the prints of over 200 stars from Jean Harlow to Shirley Temple to John Travolta. But the newest star to grace the illustrious concrete is Michael Jackson, whose three children, Prince, Blanket and Paris, honored him in his absence. The kids stamped a pair of his shoes and one of his iconic crystal gloves in front of the theater and also stamped their handprints.

According to The New York Times: "Justin Bieber, Smokey Robinson and the music producer Quincy Jones joined the Jackson children ... as well as Jackson’s mother and brothers, Tito, Marlon and Jackie, at the event."

The influence of the King of Pop is now officially immortalized ... though we didn't really need a concrete block to show us that, did we? If you want to really delve into Jackson's life and legacy, we suggest you read John Jeremiah Sullivan's article here. Trust us, it's worth it.
