Allen West To Liberals: Get the Hell Out Of The U.S.

Speaking to a Lincoln Day Dinner in West Palm Beach for the Palm Beach County GOP, Rep. Allen West (R-Fla) fired off a humdinger of a line that within minutes drew recriminations from Democrats on Twitter.

"We need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, (audience boos) and my dear friend the chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain't on the table," West said. "Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America."

Following cheers, West added, "Yeah I said 'hell.'"

Moments after the quote was mentioned on Twitter, former Reid spokesman Jim Manley responded via his own Twitter feed: "Me to allen west. You first asshole."

And they say politics is getting more acrimonious.

Actually, that is a very incorrect statement. Republican's want free thinking people, that can grow this country. Now people with their hand out all the time living off of the backs of all the working people. Hating when someone succeeds is the biggest problem with liberals. It often strikes me as amusing that conservatives who spend time in the military feel they have the right to rule who should and should not live in this country. As a former Marine, I don't mind sharing the country with conservatives, though I'm a progressive, or a liberal if I'm in a good mood, even fools like West.

For the most part, today's conservatives do the John Wayne bit, though: no military service, but a fightin' mouth.

SO TRUE ! I am retired, served, but not career, I find since 9/11/01, so many "conservatives", the polite term of address, feel compelled, in order to "show" their loyalty to American according to Bush and the gang to put in a flag pole and fly the flag 24 hours a day. When asked if they served or are retired military the answer is usually NO, but felt impelled by public opinion (Fox News) that to not fly 'ol glory means they are not "good Americans" P.S. they usually do not follow proper "flag" display rules either.

Do you live under a rock. Have you not watched the news of the economic collapse facing just about every socialist liberal country in Europe as they have come to find that giving out government benefits does nothing but bankrupt a country. You really think that continuing to take from the wealthy people of this country that have done so much to advance it and giving it to the poor lazy good for nothings will do anything but the same to ours. Don't get me wrong I do not mind helping those that truely are less fortunate do to no fault of their own, as in physically disabled or vets that need assistance as they have given for their country. The ones that should be cut off are all those that stay on welfare and food stamps because they are to damn lazy to get a job and try to provide for themselves and their families. Also, liberals, progressives, and such want to talk about paying "a fair share of the taxes" then why don't they go for a flat tax where every one pays an equal 10% of their income as tax. There is only a small percentage of people that even pay taxes, a great majority don't pay a dime in tax, think that is fair. to be continued

Liberals aka democrats at that time were against civil rights for blacks. It was republican conservatives who supported equal rights. MLK was a Republican. In fact if you look at the abolishionist movements going back through American history they were always conservative movements whose interest was in equality of rights and freedoms.

This is a common misconception that I think a lot of well meaning democrats make. There is a difference between the conservative philosophy and the actions of some people who call themselves conservatives. If you wouldnt say all Muslims are terrorists because some of them are extremists, then you should apply the same philosophy to democrats and republicans.

Democrats suffer just as badly from extreme elements as Republicans, but I think the conservative philosophy, perceived with an open mind is what this country needs right now. Equal rights for all, low taxes, thriving business, economic opportunity for all, limited government intrusion into peoples lives.
