Grammy-nominated songwriter and New York socialite Denise Rich has put her 12,000 square foot luxury Fifth Avenue apartment on the market for $65 million, a price tag that makes it the most expensive co-op in the city, The New York Post reports.
The real estate listing, posted by Corcoran Group agents Noble Black, Chazz Levi and Bonnie Pfeifer Evans, describes the apartment's opulent features:

Rich, a songwriter who's penned ballads for Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige and Mandy Moore, told The Post the apartment is too much space for her now that her daughters have moved away from home.
"This apartment has been an incredible home," Rich told The Post. "I don't have the need for this type of space. My greatest hope is that the next family loves and enjoys this home as much as we did."
Rich certainly made the best of her time with the apartment, hosting guests like Stevie Wonder and Celine Dion and throwing lavish parties. For one benefit gala held at the penthouse, Rich had the space converted into an iceskating rink.
It's hard to imagine anyone being able to afford the co-op's hefty price tag. But the listing's note that "Pied-a-terre and International purchasers welcomed" recalls the $88 million sale last year of a lavish 15 Central Park West apartment to Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, who gave the pad to his 22-year-old daughter.
