January Dining In San Francisco: Five Food Highlights

Our Five Favorite San Francisco Food Highlights This Month

This article comes to us courtesy of Tasting Table San Francisco.

Each month, HuffPost SF joins TastingTable.com's San Francisco editor, Jessica Battilana, to highlight our five favorite finds from the city's amazing culinary scene. Here's what caught our eye in January::

Have More Mex

Things that make us happy: Veracruz-style squid, pitchers of margaritas and a Mexican menu that transcends the taco. Find all three at the Mission newcomer Tacolicious--and as an extra incentive to pay a visit, they have the largest mezcal list in the entire city.

E.T., Scone Home

While everyone else was busy resolving to start their day with oatmeal and green juice, we were resolving to eat as many Gruyère-and-caramelized onion scones as possible from Pronto, the new Bar Bambino kiosk in the ODC Theater. So obsessed are we, we've scored the recipe.

Konnichiwa, Yuzuki

In an oversaturated genre (and in a location that's been none too kind to other restaurant attempts), Izakaya Yuzuki is a very bright spot. Here are some reasons (hint: homemade tofu, lacy shrimp fritters) to pay them a visit now.

Loco for Coco

Peanut butter is all well and good, but ever since we found the spread that is going to change your life and revolutionize your breakfast, the childhood classic has lost some of its luster.

Lunch Rush

What do chocolate-almond financiers, pheasant-filled pastry pockets and suckling-pig sandwiches have in common? They're all on the menu at Sweet Woodruff, the new lunch spot from the Sons & Daughters team.
