Sarah Palin Urges GOP To Vote For Newt Gingrich

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 01/30/2012 1:18 pm Updated: 01/30/2012 1:18 pm

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin urged Republicans multiple times on Saturday to vote for Newt Gingrich, but did not offer a formal endorsement.

She told Fox News that the fact that the GOP establishment is opposing Gingrich is proof that he isn't part of it, despite his decades as congressman, tenure as Speaker of the House and subsequent consulting work in Washington. "Well look at the players in the establishment who are fighting so hard against him," she said. "They want to crucify him because he has tapped into that average everyday American Tea Party grassroots movement that has said 'enough is enough of the establishment.'"

"I say, you know, you gotta rage against the machine at this point in order to defend our republic and save what is good and secure and prosperous about our nation," she continued. "We need somebody who is engaged in sudden and relentless reform and isn't afraid to shake it up. Shake up that establishment. So, if for no other reason, to rage against the machine. Vote for Newt, annoy a liberal. Vote Newt. Keep this vetting process going, keep the debate going."

Steve Kornacki of Salon noted that Palin's rallying cry was reminiscent of a bumper sticker favored by George H.W. Bush during his 1992 re-election campaign: "Annoy the Media: Re-elect Bush."

While other members of the conservative media have attacked Gingrich in recent days, Palin has gone to bat for the candidate.

Her husband, Todd Palin, has outright endorsed Gingrich, and Ms. Palin said she respected his decision.

Over the weekend, Ms. Palin also compared Gingrich's critics to Joseph Stalin. "What we saw with this ridiculous opposition dump on Newt was nothing short of Stalin-esque rewriting of history. It was Alinsky tactics at their worse," she wrote on her Facebook page.

Despite Palin's pleas, Gingrich is going into Tuesday's Florida primary for a loss, perhaps a landslide. Six new polls released Sunday and Monday showed Mitt Romney with a lead ranging from six to twenty points.

Palin's a chicken who only calls out her clucks from the safety of the sidelines. She didn't even run for president, she just spent PAC money on trips to do more clucking. She is too scared to stand on her own two feet and say what she really believes. Too scared to run against Bachman. She's a nobody. Who cares what she says or thinks?

If Sarah ever had a chance for a run at the White house it is now. Newt and Mitt are making a joke out of the most important office in the world. We may as well throw Sarah in the mix and make it real interesting. At least she isn't making any money from people who are seeing their jobs go to China, or making money from people who are losing their homes due to forclosure. If this is the best the GOP has to offer they should hang their heads in shame.

Simple and quick, even if Romney gets the nomination I will write in Newt! I will not vote for a Mini Me Obama which Romney is! I don't care how many millions he spends in an attempt top destroy his opposition!

romney is NO Obama.....President Obama has personality......he is able to connect with people. even people who don't like his policies...really like President Obama as a person. people do not like romney....even though most likely he will be the republican nominee. romney can not connect with the average person...maybe even the not so average person. he is stiff and mechanical. President Obama will easily win reelection....no matter who the republican nominee is.

Maybe she is aiming at another shot to be VP. Or she could just be the next woman in Newt's life.

Who is more destructive to the GOP, Sarah or Newt?  Their divisive rhetoric and their obvious disdain for liberals does nothing but fire up their base but turn off the rest of the country.  They are good for one thing and one thing only, getting Democrats elected.

"Rage Against That Establishment" would make a great title for a sequal to the last movie made about Sarah Palin. I wonder if Lisa Ann is available?

Big Mistake Sarah - your opinions are no-longer credible. http://www.redstate.com/lessgovisthebestgov/2011/11/08/newtworthy-or-not/ is where I found“ Is Newt Gingrich the Best Candidate for President in the Republican Primary” posted. I think the following from the post, “The only thing that conservative patriots have on our side is the TEA Party Movement, a few good men and women on Capitol Hill (probably not more than 100), a few good pundits on Talk Radio, the writings of our Founding Fathers, some good contemporary conservative writers and bloggers, and as the proverbial saying goes, Truth, Justice, and the American Way! We don’t have the luxury of just being able to battle Democrats. We also have to come to ideological blows with forces inside our own political party.” sums it up pretty well. Please take time to read the whole post – there is plenty you should quickly recognize that confirm Newt Gingrich is not the “true conservative” he claims to be. Read the forward he wrote in 1995 for one of Toffler’s books - it should not be overlooked.

We cannot tolerate more years of the Obama administration, and not “Obama Light” (aka Newt Gingrich) either. We need a “true conservative” – preferably one with integrity, who is good and honest, with a track record of proven results.

We better get it right. Our freedom to choose, to prosper, and to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience is at stake.

Obama lignt? How about Mini Me Obama (Romney)? Virtually everything Romney has done was either mirrored by Obama or vice versa! Romney's attempts to destroy his opposition by anys means is right out of Obama's play book. No Romney and if you don't like Newt then Santorum!

So,like Mark Levin, you choose to ignore what was reported on FRI 1/27/2012 by Carmen Cox on ABC Radio? Perhaps like Ann Bunn's comment on Mark Levin's Wall post, ("Rick Santorum is telling the truth. He knows his stuff. You're citing ABC radio news????) you think since it was reported on ABC "it must be false?" Well, if you can back up your response with documented facts, what is holding you back??? Don't forget, even Satan tells the truth if he thinks it will confuse people to act and do his bidding. If you, Ann Bunn or "even the great one" (aka Mark Levin in case you are "just" an occasional listener) have proof "the Harvard School of Public Health and the Boston Globe (study and poll) conducted in May" and the reported poll results are indeed false, it doesn't require "Rocket Science" to respond with facts. Rick Santorum usually gets high respect from me, but (he) "is telling the truth. He knows his stuff" is pretty shallow, especially since it appears he too relies on what he is told is accurate - I doubt he personally has time to check out every detail, since some of what he says turns out to be inaccurate. Publish verified facts if you have them.
