Super Bowl 2012: New York Mayor Bloomberg And Boston Mayor Menino Make Wager

Mayor Bloomberg & Mayor Menino Make Super Bowl Travel Wager

As tensions in the Northeast start to rise as the Super Bowl draws near, the mayors of New York and Boston are getting in on the action. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York and Mayor Thomas Menino of Boston announced a friendly game day wager Monday.

If the Giants win, one New York City family will win a Super Tour of Boston. And, if the Patriots win, one Boston family will win a Super Tour of New York City, Bloomberg's office said in a press release.

While the particulars vary, the winning family will receive round trip airfare, a two-night hotel stay, two meals, a tickets to a theater performance, tickets to a sporting event, VIP tours, and a photo with the mayor.

Winners of the contest will be chosen in an online lottery. Details on how to enter will be made available by the losing city after the game.

Mayor Bloomberg and Mayor Menino are no strangers to Super Bowl bets against each other. In 2008 the two bet classic New York Foods against Boston's signature dishes.

Not to be outdone, rapper 50 Cent has taken a bet that would see him tweet a nudie pic if the Giants lose.

Heading to the game? Here's what to see and do in Indianapolis.
