Sergeant Adam Page, Military Dad, Surprises Daughter At School On Birthday (VIDEO)

Reunion

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 01/31/2012 12:46 pm Updated: 01/31/2012 12:46 pm

When Bailey Page, a 6-year-old girl from Salt Lake City, Utah, told her classmates that all she wanted for her birthday was her dad to come home from Afghanistan, she could never have guessed her wish would come true so quickly.

As she continued her show-and-tell, Bailey's father, Sgt. Adam Page, walked into the classroom and swooped his very surprised daughter into his arms, Utah's Fox 13 news reports.

As she tried to clear the tears from her eyes, Bailey exclaimed, "that's my only birthday present I wanted is you," KSL reports.

According to the station, Sgt. Page has served in the Army for seven years, and has just been redeployed to Utah.

That means that this will the the first time Page has lived with his family since his daughter was born, the Deseret News reports.

Well, if that did not bring a tear to your eyes, then you have major issues in the emotional, feelings department. While dad was trying to keep it all together, the sweet daughter made it clear exactly how she felt about her father, over and over, again. Was very sweet, moving and a tear jerker without doubt. I wonder, with soldiers going back from Iraq and some from Afghanistan, how many of these reunions take place daily that we hear nothing about? I hope each one is as special for those involved as the ones I have seen thus far on the news and youtube and the like. Though against out position in Iraq (not Afghanistan, though), I, and those like me were never against those who went over to fight and am/are so glad to see them coming home. Remember, though, that not all stories end like this and with the cuts made to the VA by Bush, Jr.......there are so many soldiers who could use a hand up, an acknowledgement, a friend. These are the guys that we should be looking to help as much as possible, along with rejoicing for those who have made it back in one piece and with support systems already set up like this gentleman, above whom I wish the best. My hope goes out to all of them.

I have decided that Bailey Page is one of my favourite people !! I love her heart, sweetness, and all her hugs and kisses for her Daddy. I have watched this video over and over again and just cry each time. I saw the piece on Good Morning America and had it on my facebook within minutes. Happy Birthday to you, sweet Bailey! You are an incredible little girl and I am so thrilled that you got the one birthday present you wanted ... your Daddy is home. From a friend in Vancouver, Canada.

she loves her daddy. great moving piece, almost ruined by the commercial at the beginning and the needless preamble by the four NBC dopes at the beginning.

Such an old soul in such a tiny body with a baby voice. This little girl was amazing. It was like she was the adult and he was the child. Simply precious.
