Gwyneth Paltrow On Possibility Of Daughter Apple Being A Lesbian In Harper's Bazaar

Gwyneth Paltrow Is Latest Celeb To Speculate On Her Child Being Gay

Gwyneth Paltrow is the latest celebrity to sound off on the possibility of one of her children being gay.

In the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar, the "Shakespeare in Love" star revealed how she is currently archiving many of her red carpet looks -- from the Grace Kelly-inspired Ralph Lauren gown she wore to the Oscars in 1999 to the stunning peach dress displayed at the Venice Film Festival last year -- for six-year-old daughter Apple.

"I've been saving my clothes for her since before she was born," the actress told the magazine. "I was like, I'll bet you anything I'll have a daughter, and she'll be a really cool butch lesbian and be so above clothes, and I got a very clothes-obsessed child."

She went on to note, "So if she's a lesbian, she's a lipstick lesbian. She doesn't like anything avant-garde at all. She likes anything that's pretty, pretty, pretty or has a bow or a ruffle or is pink."

Paltrow's remarks follow similar comments made by Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Winslet. Last September, Winslet told V Magazine, "[My son] Joe turns to me the other day and says ‘One day I will have a girlfriend or a boyfriend, darling. Which would you prefer?’ And I said, ‘My love, that would be entirely up to you, and it doesn’t make any difference to me."

And while she didn't go as far as to speculate on her 9-year-old son's sexuality, Parker has said James Wilke Broderick is "very interested in what being gay is…because so many of our friends are gay."

Meanwhile, "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan sparked outrage among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) activists last year when he joked he "would pull out a knife and stab" his son if he told him he was gay during a stand-up routine. Morgan later apologized for the remark.
