Navy Pier Ferris Wheel Vandalism: Graffiti Led Police To Suspects' Address, Five Charged With Criminal Defacement

Police Find Ferris Wheel Vandals Thanks To Graffiti Indicating Where They Live

Police had little difficulty apprehending five suspected vandals whose graffiti on Chicago's Navy Pier Ferris wheel indicated where they lived and worked.

Brienna Davis, 21, and Eltakus Cook, 19, were charged with criminal defacement of property, along with three juveniles, NBC Chicago reports. Police found graffiti on a Ferris wheel seat written in gold marker, including the message "Job Corps get baked."

All five suspects participate in the city's Job Corps, a free federal program that provides educational and technical career training to youth, who live in dorms at the corps' center on the Southwest Side, the Chicago Tribune reports. They were arrested by police inquiring at the organization's South Kedzie Avenue address.

Job Corps officials have not yet commented on the incident.
