Cartoon Network, Adult Swim Coming To Canada

Canadians no longer have to rely on Teletoon at Night, Teletoon's late-night cartoon block, for more Adult Swim shows. Why? Well, just as FX, HBO and ABC Family have received the Canadian treatment, so, too, will Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.

Teletoon Canada Inc. and Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. have teamed up to bring the popular channels to Canada later this year as one digital specialty network.

Audiences north of the border can watch their Cartoon Network favourites in the 6 a.m.-to-9 p.m. ET/PT block, while the Adult Swim late-night lineup commences at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

"We are honoured that Cartoon Network has entrusted Teletoon to manage these two great brands in Canada," said Len Cochrane, President, Teletoon Canada Inc. in a release. "This marriage between Teletoon and Cartoon Network will grant us the opportunity to offer more cartoons, more stories and more excitement to everyone, everywhere."

First-run content that has never before been seen in Canada will be broadcast, along with classic series from both Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. The CN brand will be also be available in standard and high definition on TV, Video on Demand, broadband and mobile platforms.

Plus, Télétoon will launch a Cartoon Network programming block for its French audience, as well as making programming online, through mobile, and on Demand.

So have fun, all you "Robot Chicken" and "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" fans -- soon you'll have two options to watch your favourite shows.
