Are These Strange Sounds Heard In The Sky A Hoax?

We're only a month into 2012 and already there are a mass amount of YouTube videos capturing bizarre sounds that are being heard around the globe.

Are we witnessing the beginning of a full-scale alien invasion?

No one knows, but people in places around the world were hearing similar, loud, seemingly mechanical, humming sounds coming from nowhere and nothing.

I've listened and I think they can be explained. My reasoning is the sounds seem to be magnified, muffled and distorted. Example ~background when talking to someone on a cell phone i.e. traffic, breaks, opening a screen door. I think one might even be fingernails on a blackboard. One was clearly wind going across a microphone.

Very strange, indeed. I'm still a skeptic and not accusing anyone of trickery. On a rational side, we know that the earths plates move. I also think wind is playing a part. Enjoyed listening, nonethless.

There is no doubt that some of this is a hoax but the vast majority of these strange sounds are for real, read news reports, links and reasons for this phenomena.

When I was living in Omaha, a fundamentalist Christian group used to drive around the inner city in the middle of the night in a van with a sound system and blow a horn at top decibel, and tell people to wake up and repent, the end was near. No one ever caught them. These films sound like that bunch.
