Giants Prepare For Super Bowl With Umberto's Pizzeria Delivery To Indianapolis

As the New York Giants prepare for the Super Bowl on Sunday, their favorite pizzeria is making sure players don't let homesick stomaches get the best of their game in Indianapolis.

General Manager Gaetano Corteo of Umberto's Pizzeria has answered the call of duty by flying out to deliver 15 signature pies to his favorite G-men. A volunteer police escort was even at hand to safely guide Corteo to La Guardia airport on Friday morning. Pies included Grandma, Buffalo, and Margherita.

Umberto's is apparently a tradition for the team, as the Giants have been ordering from the pizzeria for the past four seasons. The Post claims that throughout the current season, the three weeks they were unable to eat from Umberto's, they've lost.

Marketing manager Anthony Lopez discussed the good luck pies, "It's become a tradition in the sense that there were three games we missed [delivering to], and I believe those were games they lost...We're really excited about it. It's going to be a great game to watch."

God speed, Umberto's.

If the Giants lose, it's because of this pizza. My family used to eat there at least twice a month. They have the most god awful pizza I've ever eaten. It's absolutely flavorless. Actually, that's not true. It tastes like cardboard. It's always burnt & if you actually sit down to eat there, get ready for a long wait until you eat. Years ago, the pizza was decent & it got rave (over-rated) reviews, but since then it's become almost inedible. For years I've been saying their pizza stinks, & now that it's gotten even worse, I know of many people who say the same.

Regardless, GO GIANTS!!!

Who would want to to eat pizza that's been traveling for hours? You can't reheat pizza!? If anything it's a bad omen that doesn't bode well for the Giants.

...too little too late perhaps.

It is still better than the pizza you get out there.

I suspect Uberto's Director of Marketing got his degree online.
I guess after authorities told him he couldn’t use planes to spell out U m b e r t o’s over the stadium, he proposed flying in cold pizza. wow.
