Michelle Obama Wax Statue Could Use A Makeover, No? (PHOTO, POLL)

PHOTO: Michelle, Is That You?

Michelle, is that you?

We spotted this photo of the Obamas -- as represented in wax, that is -- as part of the unveiling of the new Aretha Franklin wax statue to kick off a three-month exhibit in celebration of Black History Month at Madame Tussaud's in New York. (Other statues in the exhibit: Billie Holiday, James Brown and Ella Fitzgerald.)

Not that the First Couple haven't been immortalized in wax before -- there was this 2010 statue in London, and the (in)famous rendering of Michelle's Jason Wu inauguration ball gown at Madame Tussaud's in New York last year.

It's not totally clear whether this wax likeness is new, but let's seize the moment to offer some suggestions for the First Lady statue.

Memo to whoever decided to put FLOTUS in that washed out cardigan/skirt combo: she's got way better outfits than that! We'd die to see a First Lady wax figure in one of her more colorful ensembles, like the stunning State of the Union 2012 dress. And while Michelle breaks out that pearl necklace from time to time, we'd pick a bolder piece of jewelry for the wax statue. A brighter look overall would encapsulate the fresh style FLOTUS has brought to the White House much better.

Scope out the statue below and weigh in: do you like the outfit they've chosen for the First Lady?
