Patriots Super Bowl: New England's Path To A 2008 Rematch With The New York Giants

Patriots Path To Indy

Thanks to a few new players, the Patriots are back in a familiar setting and facing off against an all-too-familiar opponent in Super Bowl XLVI.

These Pats won't enter the Super Bowl with the same lofty expectations heaved upon the near-perfect 2007 squad, but they're still the favorites. New England has not lost a game since Week 9, reeling off 10 straight victories in mostly dominating fashion.

The team's last defeat? Well, that came at the hands of the New York Giants. While Tom Brady might downplay the significance of the history between these two clubs, it wouldn't be a surprise if some Patriots players -- and certainly the team's fans -- will have revenge in mind when they take the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.

"Their core group of guys on that team are their leaders and they played in that 2007 championship and it hurt," former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison told the New York Post. "And when a Tom Brady comes out and says they don't watch that tape... these guys are just saying it, because it hurt."

After this season's loss to the Giants, the Patriots have played like a team with something to prove, leaving fans and foes alike reminiscing about that memorable bid for perfection.

Here are highlights from every game the Patriots played during their march to Indianapolis -- and, perhaps, revenge.
